The Room for Happiness  Collection - Acrylic Works

I’m so happy to announce the humble beginnings of my new art collection Room for Happiness . ✨
This work showcases the process of searching for light and inspiration en plein air in the Canadian outdoors, as well as bringing the inspiration back to the studio to preserve it with my signature bright and bold acrylics bordering on colourist paining style.

Please follow the link under each image to find a blog post with a story on how it has been created. More details to come soon. 💌✨

That Time We Were Together

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐖𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 Amongst the Trees ✨ Acrylic on Canvas 24x36 This piece is somewhere between abstract expressionism and realism. It started with a photo I took last winter while walking through the Mill Creek Ravine trail system under the bridge near 82nd Avenue by Bonnie Doon. The composition of the trees as I turned a corner was strikingly beautiful and literally made me gasp..

That Time We Were Together

This painting holds an honest tension. The background is abstract and warm. Dreamy. Pastel colours. Are those the Northern Lights maybe? Maybe some tears of unfulfilled potentiality. Yet, undying optimism despite the harshness of winter.. resilience as strong as the wind.

The Promised Land I

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓛𝓪𝓷𝓭 🦋💜✨ This piece begins in realism and moves toward expressionism and abstraction, where colour is allowed to stretch beyond the literal and into emotion. The Promised Land is both a place and a question. I will leave its meanings open. For now, it is simply a quiet snapshot of time, light, and becoming.

The Promised Land

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓮𝓭 𝓛𝓪𝓷𝓭 🦋💜✨ After nearly six months away from the canvas, this piece came through quite quickly. It is inspired by a foggy summer morning at the Two Jack Lake, looking toward Rundle Mountain in Banff National Park. My favourite view in the world, held first in a photograph and then translated through colour, memory, and feeling. Lately I have been reflecting on my relationship with art, on letting go of outcome and returning to presence, intuition, and expression.

Collection: En Plein Air Title: The Creative Fire 🔥 Size: 30x40 Medium: Acrylic on Canvas My artist statement is ✨ ɪɴ ʟᴏᴠᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ✨ because I believe that love is the very fabric of our reality. In those moments that we are able to connect with the feeling of love flowing through the universe, we are also able to recognize our own true nature. First step is always through mindfulness and observation. ✨🔥

The Creative Fire

Collection: En Plein Air Title: The Creative Fire 🔥 Size: 30x40 Medium: Acrylic on Canvas I just LOVED having a fire out by Elk Island National Park and doing some en plein air watercolour sketches that inspired this acrylic painting! Being outdoors in nature must be one of my favourites pastimes. Super relaxing. 🔥💛✨
